This isn’t relaxation, it’s recalibration.
Profound is a deep tissue massage for bodies that have been through something - injury, repetition, stress, or just the grind of modern life. It works on the layers that habit and tension hide in: fascia, scar tissue, collagen, the quiet architecture that shapes how you move and how you feel. Over time, resistance builds into those systems. Profound helps break that down, wake things up, and return control to the body that carries you.
This is not a spa service. It’s a manual, clinical intervention designed to help your body find its range again. Pressure is steady, deliberate, and always within your threshold. It’s not about pain; it’s about release, the kind that lingers long after you’ve left the table.
This treatment is not suitable during pregnancy. If you’re planning to claim this treatment through an existing health policy, visit our healthcare page before booking.
Deep Tissue Massage
Profound
What’s involved
Your therapist applies firm, targeted strokes to unlock tension and improve circulation through the deeper layers of muscle and fascia. Techniques from deep tissue sports massage are used to generate friction, warmth, and oxygen in the affected areas. Gradually restoring mobility and reducing inflammation.
Expect moments of intensity and stillness in equal measure. The goal isn’t comfort for its own sake, it’s restoration with purpose.
After your treatment, you might feel tender or heavy. That’s the body re-organising itself, clearing residue, flushing inflammation, integrating the work. It’s a short recovery window that leads to lasting gain.
Is it for me?
If you feel your body has become a collection of knots, this may be for you.
Profound is for:
People recovering from strain or overuse.
Desk-locked professionals with frozen shoulders and aching hips.
Anyone with tightness that resists the usual relaxation treatments and measures.
This deep tissue massage isn’t solely reaching that bliss-point; it’s about getting your range back. You’ll be asked to submit and breathe - total collaboration. Long-lasting results often build over several sessions, especially if paired with movement or intentional change outside the studio.
This treatment is not suitable during pregnancy, please visit The First House treatment page for relevant options. If you’re planning to claim through your health policy, visit our healthcare page prior to booking.
How to prepare
Hydrate well. Arrive rested, not rushed. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Remove jewellery and bring a hairband if needed.
Use your consultation form honestly: list past injuries, current medications, and areas you don’t want touched. The more transparent you are, the more effective the session will be.
How to recover
Hydration and sleep are non-negotiable.
You may feel slow or sore for 24 - 48 hours, this is normal.
Support recovery with:
Gentle movement or stretching.
Heat or cold therapy (as advised).
Avoid caffeine and alcohol
If discomfort persists or feels unfamiliar, contact the studio for further advice.
