Pregnancy and Postpartum Massage
The body that builds another body deserves reverence.
The First House is our pregnancy and early stage postpartum massage therapy treatment, created to support those in their second or third trimester, or within the first three months after birth. If you’re in your first trimester, massage in general is not available at this stage. You’ll need to wait until your second trimester to begin treatment.
This isn’t about indulgence. It’s about survival, grounding, and care during one of life’s biggest recalibrations.
Pregnancy changes everything: hormones, balance, circulation, even your sense of self. This treatment is designed to help you adapt. Through gentle, supportive work, it can help ease back pain, hip tension, swelling, anxiety and insomnia.
Touch is modified for safety. There’s no deep or targeted pressure where clot risk is present, and no essential oils that could interfere with contractions. Every position and stroke is adjusted for comfort and circulation.
This isn’t about perfect stillness. It’s about creating space in a body that’s already doing everything.
The First House
What’s involved
The session is performed primarily in side-lying positions with support cushions for alignment. Expect light to medium pressure and unhurried pacing. Techniques from therapeutic and restorative massage are adapted to promote stability, fluid movement, and relaxation without compromising safety.
Unscented, nut-free oils are used throughout, nothing to distract or overwhelm the senses.
Is it for me?
If you are 13+ weeks pregnant, or within three months postpartum, The First House is built for you.
It’s for people experiencing:
Back or pelvic girdle pain
Hip or leg tension
Fatigue and restlessness
Anxiety or emotional overwhelm
This work helps regulate pressure, promote sleep, and reconnect you to the body as it changes.
No spa softness, but quiet strength. A way to be cared for without losing your sense of autonomy.
How to prepare
Hydrate, eat a light meal, and let someone know where you are if you’re later in pregnancy. Wear loose clothing and remove jewellery. Complete your consultation form thoroughly.
We’ll only ever work within safe parameters.
How to recover
Post-session, drink water, rest, and move slowly. If your blood pressure drops during treatment, take time before standing. Light walking and gentle stretching will help integrate the work. Lower caffeine intake where possible, and give yourself permission to rest properly.

Mila is a fantastic therapist. I've been going throughout my pregnancy and her massages really helped relieving the back and legs discomfort I've been experiencing. Great also to have adjustments of positions as you grow bigger and need to change position more frequently. Highly recommended for mums to be!
